My Grandmother always said you can tell a lot about a man by his feet - what he does or doesn't wear on them. How clean and cared for are they? She also had a similar theory about hands but drew a different set of conclusions about them.
Wise words that I think applies to both genders. The way we treat out beloved feet do say something about us, but just what?
Have you ever been astonished to see a beautifully dressed woman only to look down to see unkempt tootsies! huh!!! Why forget the feet? Solz just doesn't get it
Heres what foot expert Jane Sheehan has to say - believe it at your peril
Love by the pinky toe
Forget the size of his wallet, look at his (or her) feet if you want real clues about whether the relationship will work out.
If your potential beau keeps his feet covered, like Brad Pitt, be warned that he’s a very private person
“Brad even swims in socks! He doesn’t want you to know all about him. His private life is just that – private. Respect that and you’ll get on fine.”
If you draw a line across a person’s toes and all the toes sit on the straight line, you’ll find a perfectionist, she says.
“They like doing things from start to finish, in the right order, and they hate being interrupted when they are in the middle of something.
If they have very big toe pads then they will be a very deep thinker too.”
Want to know if he or she is the sensitive type who won’t feel like a sissy crying at a sad movie?
Look at the toe next to the big toe.
“If it’s narrow at the base, widening at the tip of the toe, then they are most definitely a drama queen!”
Other hints you can apply to finding the perfect partner: long feet suggest they will be the life of the party, while square tips of toes indicate bluntness and a lack of diplomacy.
What your feet say
Corns and calluses, ingrown toenails and even fungal infections can all be interpreted, according to Sheehan.
“Bunions are common on feet where the person is doing too much for others and not enough for themselves,” she says.
An ingrown toenail can show a person who “feels threatened or vulnerable”.
Ready to decode yourself?
Take a long, hard look at your feet.
• Wide feet show a person who is very hard-working, says Sheehan.
“They are constantly doing things and find it very difficult to sit down and do nothing.”
• Narrow feet are what Sheehan calls a “princess” foot!
“You are much happier sitting back and letting others run around after you.”
• An ingrowing toenail signals a deep need to protect ideas, she says.
• Athlete’s foot shows a tendency to “let things get under your skin”.
• Calluses are protection against the outside world, or concealing true emotions from yourself, says Sheehan, and corns are similar, but relate to a specific issue.
• High arches are commonly found on people with strong inner resources.
“You enjoy spending time on your own.”
